When the pandemic claimed their April cruise ship wedding, Kristin & Toni may have figured their wedding dreams were thrown overboard. But their wedding at Chickadee Hill Farms turned out to be the next best thing – and closer to home in North Carolina.
Chickadee Hill Farms is a new wedding venue in Statesville, North Carolina. It has the cutest little Chapel they lovingly call “The Nest”, an outdoor bar made from a silo, and a fire pit with seating. The getting ready spaces are lovely, too – plenty of natural light, and space for the hair and make-up artists. A fireplace roars in the back of the reception space, just off one of the getting ready suites. And the light-colored natural wood in the main barn is easy to coordinate with any wedding theme or colors – not that you need much to decorate!
Although the day was a little grey with misty rain (totally different than the all-day warm rain showers I’m used to here in Florida) the couple’s guests and wedding party kept things warm and lively. Here are some of my favorites from Kristin & Toni’s wedding at Chickadee Hill Farms:
As the wedding guests made their way outside for the sparkler exit, Kristin & Toni shared one last private dance and it was honestly the sweetest moment. I’ve only seen one other couple do it, and I’d much rather see this trend than donut walls and cold sparks 😉
