While I've officially retired from wedding photography, I might make an exception for a truly special, intimate elopement that sparks my creativity. If you think your celebration fits the bill (or you’re feeling adventurous about breaking my no-wedding rule), feel free to reach out! Please note, I’m no longer accepting bookings for traditional weddings or events planned far in advance. Otherwise, feel free to check out our photo experiences at jujubooth.com
When Abby of Blue Orchid Events told me she had a couple that would be a perfect fit – and that it would be a Norton Museum of Art Wedding – I may have peed a little.
Ok, bold intro, but when a couple chooses a venue like this, they clearly value art and photography. Not to mention, breaking the rules when it comes to wedding planning.
Modern? Check. Lush Gardens? Check. A wedding venue that’ll impress the crap out of your guests? CHECK.
Carla and Michael’ wedding ceremony was held on the terrace/lawn, and reception held in the Ruth & Carl Shapiro Great Hall. With spaces like these, who needs draping, cafe lights and excessive florals? AND the couple gets access to the galleries for photos? New favorite, hands down.
The Norton Museum of Art can accommodate between 135-400 guests, depending on the spaces chosen. There’s ample parking across the street, and in-house catering by Constellation Culinary.
Let’s just start with Carla’s dress – black and dripping with pearls and embellishments (insert chefs kiss emoji here.) A dress as unique as her dream engagement ring from Michael.
Carla had a peaceful morning with her girls and practicing her vows while Michael got ready across the street in their home.
Guests had NO IDEA where the wedding was until the trolleys pulled up to the Norton Museum of Art. Surprise!
They had TWO officiants!
To make the most of their timeline (the gallery closes at 5pm), they opted to do a first look. After the ceremony, they were able to mingle with their guests during cocktail hour.
Their first dance? You Sexy Thing by Hot Chocolate. The energy in the room during their first dance? Impeccable.
Ok enough words – here’s my favorite images and moments from Carla and Michael’s incredible Norton Museum of Art wedding:
