About The Villa Woodbine Wedding Venue

2167 S Bayshore Drive

Miami, FL

Villa Woodbine, a gorgeous Miami wedding venue, is full of rustic splendor and modern charm. This historic mansion was constructed in the 1930s for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boyd to be a winter “home away from home,” a break from the Wisconsin cold.

Mr. Boyd was the owner of Appleton Paper Company, and he spared no expense when it came to constructing this luxurious mansion. The estate passed through the family until the 1960s when it was leased out.

Today, Bill and Terry Hansen own Villa Woodbine. They strive to share this beautiful property with the community. This mansion has also hosted thousands of weddings and corporate events for couples and celebrities alike!

Walter De Garmo designed Villa Woodbine, and he left no detail untouched. He is famous for his stunning use of the Mediterranean-Renaissance style. Additionally, he is known for highlighting open-air layouts, Spanish arches, and sweeping courtyards.

He also favored Cuban design, using colorful Cuban tiles in the dining room and incorporating Cuban-made furniture in much of the property. Villa Woodbine is a testament to this incredible architect.

This wedding and events venue is conveniently close to Miami hotels, restaurants, and other attractions. However, it is far enough removed to feel tucked away and secluded in the beauty of the natural environment. This venue can host small weddings and grand events alike. They have an events team ready to assist couples in every stage of the planning process.

Details of the Grounds

Villa Woodbine is the ideal Miami wedding venue. It features historic charm, natural beauty, and a convenient location. As couples and their guests enter the grounds, they’ll be transported back to the tropical relaxation of classic Old Miami, with Tuscan countryside elements. Because of this, the rustic, magical, whimsical, and elegant venue is one of Miami’s most sought-after wedding destinations.

Renowned architect Walter De Garmo designed this venue. He planned this gorgeous mansion in one of Miami’s oldest neighborhoods, Coconut Grove. This venue features a Mediterranean-style aesthetic, from Spanish archways to Cuban craftsmanship. Moreover, these stunning architectural details serve as a lovely backdrop for an unforgettable wedding celebration.

There are three-floor plans to choose from for ceremonies and receptions. Floor plans include a summer porch, welcome table, living room, groom’s room, bar, cocktail area, courtyard, cake and coffee area, and dance floor. The maximum capacity for this venue is about 300 guests.

The garden is a spectacular setting where thousands of couples have enjoyed the biggest day of their lives. Additionally, artificial grass looks beautiful throughout all seasons.

Additionally, the venue can host ceremonies, receptions, and other events. This includes engagement parties, bridal showers, elopements, and rehearsal dinners.

Photography Opportunities

Villa Woodbine gives couples access to a picture-perfect Miami wedding venue full of historical details, natural beauty, and Tuscan elements. It feels like you’ve been transported out of the country without even leaving Miami!

The outdoor ceremony space features manicured lawns, hanging string lights, lush trees, vibrant blooms, and lots of natural light. Furthermore, the outdoor tent reception space features hanging lights, lush greenery, hanging chandeliers, and fabulous garden views. The entrance to the mansion includes towering palm trees, an elegant balcony, and large, dark wood doors.

The venue features a grand staircase full of colorful mosaic tiles. This vibrant area is perfect for first-look photos or a bride’s grand entrance to the big event. Villa Woodbine’s courtyard is an intimate, romantic space featuring a fountain, hanging lights, and elegant palm trees. Therefore, it is an excellent location for cocktail hour or first dance photos.

Real Wedding Day at Villa Woodbine

Villa Woodbine is truly a fairy-tale wedding venue. The garden setting, pops of color in the tiles, romantic vibe, and of course the famous chandelier hanging from the twinkling tree are just some of the pieces that make this Miami wedding venue a local treasure. And Brookie and Niclas are as sweet as they are outwardly beautiful.

The couple chose to get ready at Villa Woodbine, with Brookie in the upstairs suite and Niclas with his guys in the living room downstairs. For April, it was quite a warm day. Guests gathered on the back lawn for the ceremony, and the wedding party lined up in front of the iconic oak tree. You don’t need much to decorate the ceremony spaces at this Miami wedding venue – it’s that pretty already!

And read ahead for an extra special surprise – the bride’s mom surprised the couple by flying in EDWIN MCCAIN to serenade them for their first dance. Not a dry eye in Miami that night.

As always, the fabulous vendors and team that made this magical day possible are credited at the end.
