Hillsboro Club Wedding

While I've officially retired from wedding photography, I might make an exception for a truly special, intimate elopement that sparks my creativity. If you think your celebration fits the bill (or you’re feeling adventurous about breaking my no-wedding rule), feel free to reach out! Please note, I’m no longer accepting bookings for traditional weddings or events planned far in advance. Otherwise, feel free to check out our photo experiences at jujubooth.com

Nicole and Colton’s Hillsboro Club Wedding made me fall in love with Florida all over again. If you’re searching for the perfect venue for your South Florida wedding, look no further than the exquisite Hillsboro Club. Nestled along the stunning coastline, this hidden gem provides a picturesque backdrop for your wedding.

In the weeks leading up to their wedding, I asked Nicole and Colton what they’re looking forward to most. Nicole mentioned she loved the deck and views of the ocean at the ceremony spot and Colton was most excited for the keg (ok and the first look, haha!) The week of their wedding had some storms and bad weather, but once their Saturday rolled around, nothing but ocean breezes and slightly overcast skies for these two!

About Hillsboro Club

This was my first time photographing a wedding at Hillsboro Club. Here are some of my favorite details about the venue, based on my experience and reviews from past customers/clients:

  1. It feels private and exclusive. The ballroom architecture and back deck are cute and cozy. If you’re looking to throw a 200+ person wedding, this might not be the venue for you. But from the first step into the lobby the calming decor of the individual rooms, suites, and common areas will make you feel like you’re “home”.
  2. The Hillsboro Club is SO versatile. I almost didn’t recognize it, but we had the Juju Booth there a couple weeks ago and the entire back deck was covered and made to look like a magical forest. You truly can do so much at this venue!
  3. The staff really like being there. Or at least they’re good actors 😉 I’ve heard great things about Jonathan, the on-site event coordinator, and he answered all of my questions quickly when I had emailed him about the photo booth set up.
  4. If you have a lot of out-of-town wedding guests, the Hillsboro Club is the perfect amount of “Florida” without being over-the-top or tacky. And the views of the lighthouse? Iconic.

Nicole and Colton opted to do a first look. This gave us plenty of time after the ceremony and family formals to run over to the lighthouse for some golden hour portraits. They also opted to add a second photographer, which was so helpful immediately after the ceremony. My second photographer was able to photograph all the reception details as I finished up family group photos.

But enough chit-chat – let’s get right into all my favorite details and moments from Nicole and Colton’s best day ever…

How great are these marquis letters? Colton MADE THEM!
