Get comfortable, this is a long one. My first Indian wedding at one of my favorite wedding venues in Coral Gables – the Coral Gables Country Club.
Sorry not sorry, but I just couldn’t narrow this amazing Indian wedding day down to 20 photos or so. It was hard enough to get four days of celebrations down to just their wedding day! In the days leading up to their wedding day, family and friends from all over the world gathered to celebrate S & A for their Mehndi, Sangeet, and Haldi ceremonies. Spending time with and getting to know their families and all of their traditions will forever be a favorite (and longest!) weekend of my career.
I had an incredible all-woman team for this Indian wedding at Coral Gables Country Club, and will credit all of the fabulous vendors (as always!) at the end of this post.
The Wedding Day
The wedding day started at the bride’s parent’s home, while my second photographer was with the groom. We had plenty of gorgeous details to photograph, and a tight timeline to stick to. Thankfully, Lucy from EBJ Events kept everything right on schedule.
Now, take a breath, stretch that scrolling finger, and join me in re-living this couple’s Coral Gables wedding…
The Baraat
After the first look, it was time for the baraat! During the baraat, the groom “arrives” to the wedding ceremony and is surrounded by his friends, family, and wedding guests. The music is loud, everyone’s dancing, and the energy is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced on a wedding day.
The Ceremony
After the baraat, the groom is welcomed by the bride’s family, his feet are washed, and he waits on the mandap for his bride. I can’t get over the details in this wedding ceremony, from the lush roses, to the vivid greenery, and the Coral Gables Country Club’s iconic banyan tree behind it all was the cherry on top. The ceremony was packed with religious ceremonies, a few laughs, and lots of loving exchanges between the couple.
The Reception
After some family formals on the mandap, guests were treated to an elaborate cocktail hour, and the final candles were lit in the ballroom. The Coral Gables Country Club has plenty of room to accommodate 300 guests. Suhaag Garden and Pavan Events transformed the ballroom into a lush, white, garden-inspired reception space and guests were bathed in a rosy glow of soft pinks and ambers.
