Destination Elopement in Miami | Florida Elopement Photographer

Weddings

The wedding industry is like a big family down here in South Florida. So when I got the initial inquiry email from Sarah that she was referred by her officiant for her destination elopement in Miami, I was STOKED. Eilleen is actually on my “Vendors I Love” page that I share with newly booked couples, so when the favor comes back around, it’s like a big mushy love fest ‘round here.

Speaking of love-fests, Sarah and Chris were making plans to travel from Canada to Miami for Ultra. And while they were down here, wanted to ELOPE! She mentioned she didn’t want something traditional and “stuffy”, and I think we knocked it out of the park!

I met Sarah at the Hotel Arya, just across the street from Peacock park. Sarah wrapped up her finishing touches, scooped up the bottom of her dress, and we dodged rain drops as we walked across the street to the park. Her future husband Chris was already waiting.

I asked Eileen if we could take a few moments for a sweet “first look” before their ceremony and I’m so glad we did. Before we knew it we were on our way for a quick coffee at Starbucks (where they had their first date!) and down the street for their Wynwood portraits.

Weddings don’t have to be in a ballroom or your backyard. They don’t even have to have invited guests and an expensive cake. In a time where all small, intimate weddings are typically called an “elopement”, Sarah & Chris’ day was real, genuine, and full of love and laughter. (Aaaand a little bit of rain.) If you’re considering an elopement in Miami, I say GO FOR IT.
