Old School Square Wedding

Weddings

If you’ve got a touch of the summertime blues, perhaps Michaela and Slater’s Old School Square wedding will perk ya right up!

Michaela’s vibrant style (peep that lipstick – a dupe of the shade Marilyn Monroe wore in “Some Like it Hot”) and Slater’s magnetic energy were the perfect ending to our 2021-2022 wedding season.

The couple met at the very church they were married in. It’s obvious Michaela and Slater are huge fans of tradition and sentimental touches, and their Old School Square wedding absolutely reflected that.

If Michaela looks familiar, it’s because she’s no stranger to the camera! Michaela was in the Top 12 on the singing talent show “The Voice” back in 2012. The camera clearly loves her, almost as much as anyone that that crosses her path.

Breaking Tradition…

Michaela and Slater opted for a “first touch” instead of a first look. Since they had an incredible wedding planner, Julie with Just Glam Events, and a second photographer, we had a breezy day that didn’t feel over-scheduled.

And their reception location was just as perfect. The Old School Square is a Delray Beach icon, and after months of uncertainty, the couple was relieved to celebrate just steps from their beloved church. But don’t let that make you think the reception was stuffy or boring, because these two can PARTY. Between Michaela’s adorable dance with her father to Slater’s hilarious garter moment, you never know what you’re going to get with these two!

How cool is Slater’s boutonnière?! It’s dried flowers secured to a card that simply sits in his suit pocket. BRILLIANT!

The Reception

I love the personal touches the couple chose for their reception details. Every table had mis-matched vintage plates, along with chocolates that played on their Harry Potter obsession. I especially loved the table in the back that had place settings for loved ones they’ve lost – marked with a single oval frame. Not going to lie, that had myself and Amy, my second photographer in tears. What a beautiful way to remember the people you love.
