The West Palm Beach Lake Pavilion is the perfect venue for a smaller guest list. Like many couples in 2020-2021, Melissa & Nathaniel had to make some hard decisions about their wedding plans. For this couple, that meant sneaking off to Colorado for an intimate elopement and keeping their reception on their original wedding date. After all, they still wanted to celebrate with family and they had the venue booked close to home.
The couple decorated the reception space at the West Palm Beach Lake Pavilion with photos and mementos of their relationship, and a few from their elopement in the mountains. As a new corgi-mama myself, I think the ones with their doggo are my favorite! They also included tropical touches like pineapples and Miami-inspired pastelitos. They even had sticker books for the children in attendance!
While there may not have been a ceremony or couple’s portraits, having all of their best friends and family members together in one room still felt very special, and I can tell it wrapped up their marriage experience beautifully.
There weren’t any announced formalities – no entrance, first dance, toasts, or cutting the cake. And honestly, it was just as lovely as any wedding reception. Since it was a little more of a casual affair, I took a photojournalistic approach to documenting their wedding reception and hope I delivered some lasting memories for the newlyweds.
