Elopement at Bakers Cay

While I've officially retired from wedding photography, I might make an exception for a truly special, intimate elopement that sparks my creativity. If you think your celebration fits the bill (or you’re feeling adventurous about breaking my no-wedding rule), feel free to reach out! Please note, I’m no longer accepting bookings for traditional weddings or events planned far in advance. Otherwise, feel free to check out our photo experiences at jujubooth.com

Just perfect – A simple Key Largo elopement at Bakers Cay Resort with their twin daughters and best friends. Their original date was the day before, but a tropical storm threatened the Florida Keys and we made the decision to push it to the next day. In true Florida fashion, the original date had blue skies and iconic South Florida weather, and this Sunday was overcast with rain bands.

You just never know with Florida.

I arrived to their room just as the bride was finishing up getting ready. Shortly after, we headed out to the docks for photos. Once it was ceremony time, their officiant/best friend checked the radar one more time and said “it’s now or we wait 30 minutes….” We went for it.

And just as T & B met at the ceremony space, it started to drizzle.

The girls were way more interested in the sand ceremony than mom and dad making it official. But that’s expected with three year olds, ha!

Just after their first dance, the rain stopped – but it didn’t ruin their Florida Keys wedding.

The rain stopped shortly after the ceremony (of course) and the newlyweds headed back to the room for a quick change into their swimsuits for some photos in the water. I mean, Tyra’s bridal bathing suit! They had dinner reservations after the dip in the water, so we didn’t get too crazy – but I love how playful and romantic these photos are!

Florida Keys weddings and elopements are always SO special! If you’re planning on escaping to the Keys for your wedding or elopement, I’d love to chat! Elopement pricing starts at just $1100 for two hours. Get in touch below to check availability.
