While I've officially retired from wedding photography, I might make an exception for a truly special, intimate elopement that sparks my creativity. If you think your celebration fits the bill (or you’re feeling adventurous about breaking my no-wedding rule), feel free to reach out! Please note, I’m no longer accepting bookings for traditional weddings or events planned far in advance. Otherwise, feel free to check out our photo experiences at jujubooth.com
Planning the perfect proposal is a significant moment in your life, and choosing the right location can make it truly unforgettable. South Florida, with its stunning beaches, beautiful gardens, and vibrant cityscapes, offers a variety of picturesque spots that can set the stage for your dream proposal. Whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town, finding the the best place to propose in South Florida is probably at the top of your wishlist (after the ring, of course!)
We understand that proposing can be nerve-wracking, but it should also be one of the happiest moments you share with your partner. This guide aims to ease those nerves by showcasing some of the best places to propose in South Florida. From the serene beauty of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens to the lively charm of Las Olas Boulevard, you’ll find the perfect spot to suit your style and preferences.
Let’s explore these enchanting locations across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, along with some helpful tips to make your proposal go smoothly. Whether you prefer a quiet beach at sunrise or the lobby of the hotel you’re staying in, we’ve got you covered!
So, take a deep breath— let’s find the perfect place for you to pop the question.
Of course this is top of the list for Miami proposals! Vizcaya’s stunning gardens and views are straight out of a fairy tale. Our favorite spots are the stairs leading up to the Casino Mound and Barge facing the water, but it’s impossible to get a bad photo there!
Vizcaya requires a photography permit, so be sure to get that handled before the big day. We’re happy to pre-pay for the permit and get there early – they’ll have no idea when you pay for regular admission 😉
Technically this park requires a permit as well, but it’s good starting point for the question and then some iconic Miami photos along South Beach after. Golden hour here is MAGIC, so be sure to time your proposal for that good good light!
The only downside is how busy this park can be in the afternoons. Locals and tourists love the views, so if your honey is more of a private proposal person, you might want to skip this one.
Deering Estate is another fantastic Miami proposal location, along Palmetto Bay. Walk them out to the water for a semi-private proposal with manatees watching from below. Photography permits start at $150, but you can get a small discount if you’re a Deering Estate Foundation Member. Be sure to secure your permit no earlier than three days out – Miami weather is tricky and there ar no refunds or date changes.
If you’re visiting, you may not need to look far for the best places to propose in South Florida! Whether it’s the W South Beach or one of the stylish boutique hotels along South Beach, the hotel you’re staying at can be a great option for your proposal as well! Bonus- if it’s summertime, you have a fantastic Plan B in case of afternoon thunderstorms.
The W South Beach was incredibly helpful helping plan the proposal pictured below. All she had to do was lure her to the bar by lying about a cocktail class. Plus, you save money on Ubers and can uh, celebrate right after, ha!
I may be afraid of butterflies (we have a team of talented photographers to handle this one!), but if these critters are your jam, it can be a lovely spot to propose! Be sure to call ahead and ask for permission. Weekdays may be best, and you’ll want to scope out a good spot in the shade, out of the sun. Bonus- Butterfly World is located in Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, and can be a great option for more variety after the proposal!
Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale is the perfect spot if you want bold colors, gorgeous gardens, and a little bit of quirk. I’ve photographed a handful of weddings here and love all the different backgrounds you can get outside the actual home. Photo permits only allow you to use the exterior gardens, so if your heart is set on the interior courtyard, you’ll have to reconsider.
Photo permits are available Tuesday-Thursdays, 11-3pm only for $25/per person.
The only time I’d recommend this Fort Lauderdale area beach gem is sunrise. So if you’re down to set an alarm, you’ll be rewarded with a gorgeous sky! After 9am, the broadwalk is full of tourists and locals alike, and you may get taken out by a bicycle, haha! A wonderful option if you’re staying nearby at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort!
Looking for something that just screams FORT LAUDERDALE? Then you HAVE to do it around Las Olas! I personally love the area around Stranahan House, right on the water. If you’re lucky, the Jungle Queen will pass by with well-wishes!
After they say YES, you can head to one of the dozens of restaurants or bars in the area to celebrate!
You may have seen my work from proposals in Worth Ave Palm Beach here – it’s definitely a favorite for out-of-towners looking to pop the question! Our team of proposal photographers are there at least twice a month, so we know all the good spots!
And we know it’s th iconic shot you crave, but we don’t recommend dropping to one knee at the Clock Tower. With traffic and tourists, it’s hard to ensure you have the space you need. But it is our favorite place to end our session, which can include a few shots on the beach as well!
Truly a Palm Beach County treasure, Morikami Gardens offers gorgeous backdrops for your proposal! If you want something different that doesn’t scream FLORIDA!!! (Any Taylor Swift fans here?) then Morikami’s 16 acres of Japanese gardens might be the best proposal location for you! Be sure to pack some ballet flats or flips flops for your partner if they wear heels – there’s a lot of walking!
You can review their photo permit and photography policies here.
Another great sunrise option is Mizner Park in the heart of downtown Boca Raton. Sure, it’s mostly restaurants and shops, but the bold gazebos and charming fountains can make a beautiful proposal backdrop if you’re there early enough! Plan your day afterwards with a visit to the Boca Raton Museum of Art or one of the amazing restaurants just steps away.
Be sure to hit up the top of the parking garage for some sweet minimalistic photos as well!
