Leigh called me as I was pulling my camera out of my bag to get ready for a shoot. “I have this crazy idea but I’m not sure if you’d be up for it… so there’s this stilt house camp in New Port Richey…” Stilt House engagement photos? I’M IN.
I drove up with one of my besties in tow (because road trips are always better with friends), cursed the rain for the last hour of the trip, and met Leigh and Andrew at their family’s home in New Port Richey. Just a few minutes later we were following behind them to the dock and climbed in the boat. Andrew was careful to go slow so that Leigh’s hair wouldn’t lose its curl in the wind.
Once we got to the camp, I couldn’t contain my excitement. The rain clouds that threatened to ruin my day parted just over New Port Richey and gave Leigh, Andrew, and I warm, golden light to shoot in as the sun went down.
Congratulations to Leigh and Andrew! Can’t wait to photograph your wedding (and see the rest of the family again!)
