LGBTQ Wedding at Hialeah Racing Park & Casino| Hialeah Park Casino Wedding

While I've officially retired from wedding photography, I might make an exception for a truly special, intimate elopement that sparks my creativity. If you think your celebration fits the bill (or you’re feeling adventurous about breaking my no-wedding rule), feel free to reach out! Please note, I’m no longer accepting bookings for traditional weddings or events planned far in advance. Otherwise, feel free to check out our photo experiences at jujubooth.com

John and Luis hired me just weeks before their Hialeah Park Casino wedding. The week before their wedding, they invited me to their home to go over the final details and it was like we were old friends. Their love for art, and travel made me even more excited to document their wedding day.

John and Luis did everything THEIR WAY. They got dressed together, drove to the venue together, had plenty of time for portraits, and even met with their guests before the ceremony. They didn’t want it to feel like a huge production, but wanted to spend the most time they could with their guests.

The sweetest moment was in the middle of the ceremony. Shortly after the couple exchanged vows, one guest stood up and starting singing Madonna’s “True Blue” Then another, and another… and soon it was a teary sing-along to their favorite 80’s song. I cried the whole time.

They didn’t even have a formal “first dance”! It was truly an amazing party (with a custom ice luge!) with all of their favorite people set to an awesome playlist of Madonna and Lady Gaga.

Honestly, I’d like to be invited to all of their gatherings. Here’s some of my favorites from the very first same-sex wedding held at Hialeah Racing Park and Casino:

Luis & John, thank you so much for your friendship and for trusting me to document such an important day in your lives – and best wishes for the future!
