I photographed their wedding two years ago, and again as DJ and Niki were just a few short weeks from welcoming a baby boy! I LOVED hanging out with these two again, and was so excited to see them as parents! Their Fort Lauderdale maternity session will forever be one of my favorites.
If this couple looks familiar, its probably due to this viral video of DJ and their son having the cutest conversation while watching TV. I can tell you DJ is just as funny in real life, and I’ve loved watching his comedy career blossom.
I love this park for a few reasons: the location has mature trees, wide open spaces, and the sweetest dock extending out to a lily pad pond. The light is so magical in the afternoon, too! Volunteer Park in Plantation does require a permit fee, so if you’re falling for this location, be prepared to pay a little extra for that.
Warning: RIDICULOUS light ahead. Like, OUT OF CONTROL. DJ even mentioned that whenever he sees pretty light he makes a point to call it out – “Yummy light” (If you’ve shot with me, that’s totally a Sonju-ism, and I’m so proud.)
